NjavaraKizhi or Shashtikashali pinda swedam is a ype of massage inducing sweat and relieving stress. It an Ayurvedic massage technique that originated in Kerala, India. This massage uses a special type of rice called Njavara, which is cooked in a mixture of milk and herbal decoctions, to provide a rejuvenating and healing experience.

What does Njavara Kizhi mean?

  •  Njavara Kizhi massage is a type of Ayurvedic massage that involves the use of a special type of rice called Njavara. 

  • The rice is cooked in a mixture of milk and herbal decoctions, and then tied in a cloth pouch, which is used to massage the body.

How it is done: 

  • The therapist prepares a warm medicated decoction and adds milk and Njavara rice to it. The mixture is cooked until it becomes a thick paste. 

  • The paste is then tied in a cloth pouch, which is heated and used to massage the body. The therapist applies gentle pressure to different parts of the body, focusing on areas with tension or pain.
